Thankfulness
(He who forgets the language of thankfulness
can never be on speaking terms with happiness.)
A person that is consistently unthankful will consistently complain, be unhappy, find fault and be negative.

This service is us bringing a gift back to God. The gift is called, Thankfulness.
Thankfulness is not one day in a month; No, it’s a lifestyle.
We need to cause our hearts to value and flow freely with “Thanksgiving”. It’s an attitude you choose. Thankfulness benefits everyone.
Paul writing about people in the last days:
2 Timothy 3:2 says: “They will be marked with un thankfulness.”
Unthankful people are defeated people
Overcoming Christians are people who have the habit of being thankful.
Story of turtle on a fence pole:
A guy had a picture in his office of a turtle up on a fence pole. People asked him why he had the picture. He said that every time he thought that he was smart or had done something significant or thought that he was wonderful or proud of himself or thought that he had “arrived”, he would look at the turtle and it reminded him to be thankful, because the turtle didn’t get there on his own, ‘he had help’.
We got where we are because we had help ‘Gods help’.
The words Think and Thank come from the same Latin root.
If we take time to Think more, we will undoubtedly Thank more.
We should not think of what we haven’t got but be thankful for what we have got.
God blesses us with all we need in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 4:19 (Amp) – And my God will liberally supply [Fill to the full*] your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus
*Fill to the full – not just a half a tank to keep you going – no, a full tank for the full journey.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (Amp) – Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
The ‘will’ of God is Thankfulness. Being thankful is not passive, but active. It’s not something that is done to you. It’s done by you.
The word of God commands us to give thanks in everything.
God has two dwellings – One in heaven and the other in a thankful heart.
Philippians 4:6(Amp) – Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
Colossians 2:7(LB) – Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him. See that you go on growing in the Lord and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done.
Colossians 4:2(NIV) – Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Thanksgiving will never end:
Revelation 7:12(LB) – “Amen!” They said, “Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to our God forever and forever. Amen!”
Thanksgiving is the energy of an Overcomer. If we spend our time ‘Thanking’ God for the blessings, the good things, there won’t be any time left to grumble and complain and have a bad attitude over the bad things.
Our real victory and prosperity lies in being thankful. A Thankful person is a joyful person, a victorious, overcoming person.
Let us make a quality decision to complain less, find fault less and be thankful more often.
1 Thessalonians 5:18(Amp) – Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
Prayer:
God, you’ve given so much to me; give me one more thing… a grateful, thankful heart.
