Plant a seed and reap the harvest you want #2 – By Pastor George Lehman

Plant a seed and reap the harvest you want #2

Plant a seed and reap the harvest you want #2.

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seed you sow (plant). (Because you reap what you sow)

By Pastor George Lehman

If things are filled with joy and peace, having a great attitude and being fruitful, faithful, reflecting Jesus, keep checking what seeds those were you sowed, to get you to such a courageous, victorious place.

So too, if you’re regularly miserable, have a bad attitude, always filled with anger, negativity and unforgiveness, just check the seeds you’re busy sowing into your life.

When you’re assessing your harvest, deal with the cause not the symptom.
Cause = seeds we’re planting.
Symptom = harvest we’re reaping. Far to many nurse their miserable harvest.

The fruit that’s on your tree has everything to do with what you’re sowing into your life right now.

Have you ever wondered why God did not choose something else to create us from?  Like gold, silver, precious stones or wood?

But He chose to make us out of the dust of the earth – out of dirt.  Why?  Because soil is capable of growing and developing life, it’s a God-given resource for bearing fruit.

We are designed to be cultivators, producers and creative centres, empowering us to yield a rich Godly harvest from seeds sown.

Unfortunately, some people are passive – waiting for something to happen; even at times, expecting the worst to happen =

Just my luck
I never win
I’m a failure.
I can’t seem to grow spiritually.
I always make bad choices.
Things are always difficult and hard for me.
Life must just be HARD!

These are all lies from Satan!

A song called “Que sera sera” which means “Whatever will be, will be. The future’s not ours to see”.

That’s a lie!  The truth is whatever you sow, will be!

You’ve got unlimited power

Ephesians 3:20 (Amp) – Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [Action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to (carry out His purpose and) do superabundantly, far over and above all that we (dare) ask or think (infinitely) beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams). Your heart is ready to receive God’s seed.

If you don’t like the life, you have right now, you can change the seeds you’re sowing. You are never to old to change!
That’s the beauty of a seed! It contains the power to create the life you want.

Seeds meet needs.  No matter how small they maybe they flourish when watered and give them the right climate to live in.  They will eventually come to bloom. Jesus spoke about the mustard seed:

Matthew 13:31-32 (Amp) – 31Another story by way of comparison He set forth before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. 32Of all the seeds it is the smallest, but when it has grown it is the largest of the garden herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and  find shelter in it’s branches.

The Bible is not a book of rules, but a bag of seeds.

All the answers and seeds of greatness lie within it.

A seed is basically a copy of the plant it came from.  Jesus by means of the Holy Spirit is the plant from which we received our seed.  We must be reproducing the plant – Jesus.

Matthew 5:48 (Amp) – You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.

The words of the Bible are described as the seeds that, when planted, will surely produce the abundant life.

The Higher Life, The Unshakable Life.

Here are some simple steps to get started:

#1 Chose your harvest.
(If you want corn; you plant corn seeds)

Decide what kind of ‘HARVEST’ you want i.e. What kind of life you truly want.

You need to be very clear, and mind made up that you want to grow spiritually and become like Jesus!

If you want to have tomatoes in your yard, you don’t plant carrot seeds.

#2  Plant the seed.
(That will produce the harvest you want)

This step is all about taking action.  Once you’ve determined the Godly fruitful harvest you desire.

Plant seeds that will produce it.

Your words, your choices, your commitments, your diligence, your excellence and your actions are all seeds that with time will produce a bumper harvest.

1 Peter 1:23 (KJV) – Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever.

The seed we have within us will never die and will produce if we allow it to!

Isaiah 55:11 (Amp) – So shall My word be that goes forth out of my mouth:  it shall not return to ME void (without producing any effect, useless) but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

#3  Protect your field.

Your heart is the soil of your life, so what goes into your ears, your eyes and your mind goes directly to your heart.

The heart can’t decide on which seeds are good and which aren’t.  The heart is set on automatic pilot – it will accept whatever you put into it.

Proverbs 4:23 (Amp) – Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance[watchfulness] and above all that you guard for out of it flow the springs of life.

What you plant in it will flow out of it.  It will grow what I sow.

Clear out the negative seed that will choke your harvest.

Eliminate:  criticism, complaining, bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, unfaithfulness, compromise, excuses, discouragement, judging, fear and failure.

Seeds (positive or negative) grow stronger when fertilized with constant repetition. What you keep repeating, you going to be producing.

#4  Don’t give up.

So many Christians get discouraged by the process and give up just before their harvest comes. This is where perseverance and endurance comes alive.

Galatians 6:9 (Amp) – Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.  Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.  Succeed anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.  Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds.  Think bright anyway.

The good that you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.  Do good anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.  Build anyway.

We will reap if we don’t give up.

#5  Harvest it.

James 3:17-18 –  But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

If you stay relentless(meedoënloos)…

You will reap the reward of your effort.
You’ll begin to see Godly fruit.
You’ll be happier, calmer, stronger, kinder, patient, have self control, be faithful.

Remember you hold the keys (seeds) in your hands to live the life you desire by choosing the seeds you plant.

No one can stop your harvest.  It’s up to you!

Genesis 8:22 (Amp) – While the earth remains, seed time and harvest …shall not cease.
