More like Jesus

Pastor Joe van der Berg

More like Jesus

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)

God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NIV)

17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate a the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 (NIV)

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

Colossians 2:13-14 (NIV)

13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,  God made you  alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

1 Peter 1:15-16 (NIV)

15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Colossians 3:3 (NIV)

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Ephesians 4:30-32 (NIV)

30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Psalm 139:17-18 (NIV)

17How precious to me are your thoughts, a God! How vast is the sum of them! 18Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand – when I awake, I am still with you.

Romans 2:4 (NIV)

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Romans 4:7-8 (NIV)

7“Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8Blessed is the one

whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

Jeremiah 6:16 (NIV)

This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
