Life after saying AMEN

(A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump; a God shaped life is a flourishing tree.  Proverbs 11:28 MSG)

For many people, “Amen” actually means full stop.  (Dis nou klaar.)

“Amen” we have had church, now I can go and do my own things. –

I have done my part –

God’s happy I showed up watched and listened to the sermon; I’ve read a scripture and said a prayer.

The word “Amen” in Hebrew = “AMAN”

To be firm

To be faithful

To trust or believe

To be true

Long continuance (voortdurend)(sonder ophou)

So be it

II Corinthians 1:20 (KJV): – All the promises of God in Him are Yes and in Him Amen.

Note: – There are more than 30 000 recorded promises in the Bible and God has not broken a single one of them – “they still for today” in 2020.

What is God saying to us in this scripture: –

My promises to you are –

Firm and cannot shake
Faithful and will always come to pass
Trust it, believe it – You can stake your life on it.
It’s TRUE – I will do what I say
Long continuance (sonder ophou) – It will never end
Steadfast – The foundation is solid you can build on it.
So be it – they have been released.

Life after saying “Amen”

What are you actually saying when you say “AMEN”?

“So be it” Lord I will commit to this life.

I now stand firm

I will be faithful

I will trust and believe

I will walk in the truth

I will endure to the end no matter what

I will be steadfast and do all I can, not to live a shaky compromised life.

I will be obedient, enthusiastic and effective – my life does count.

When you have said amen, life starts – not stops.

Matthew 6:33 (NIV) – But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

AMEN is an action word.  It calls for obedience.

Many of God’s dear children stop their spiritual disciplines

(1) A crisis hits them

(2) Trials come and temptation and difficulties and problems come

(3) And life seems to get beyond them. Many stop praying and meditating

on God’s word.

There are Spiritual disciplines that we should, Keep on – keeping on

Keep your prayer life going.
Don’t stop reading God’s word.
Don’t stop – connecting to church on line church, Keep working through the home cell notes as a family, stay prayerful
Do your utmost to not break with the routine that has been helping you Grow in the Grace of Jesus.

God doesn’t owe us an explanation or a reason for everything He asks us to do.

I always say understanding can wait –

Obedience can’t.

We may not understand our present crises or circumstances

Instant obedience will teach you and I more about God – than a life time of bible discussion and sermons.

In fact, you will never understand some of the commands – until you obey them first.

Partial obedience is disobedience (bietjie gerhoorsaamheid = ongehoorsaamheid)

James 2:24 We please God by what “we do” and not only by what we believe (“obedience”). It’s about your belief in action.

Why is obedience so pleasing to God – because it shows and proves that we love Him.

John 14:15 If you love Me, you will obey My commandments.

The 1st purpose of our life is to please God. That is what we were created for.

Ephesians 5:10 And try to learn (in your experience) what is pleasing to the Lord (let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him).

In other words, once you have said “Amen” you then begin to live in such a way –

That’s obedient and pleasing to your heavenly father.

And that your life counts and positively influences a lost world out there.

Let me ask you this: – after you have said “Amen”

What becomes of your life?

What are you building your life around?

Is it really God and His ways

Or is it something else.

Psalm 119:19 I am here on earth for just a little while.

Life is too short to make the wrong decisions.

God has an awesome plan for everyone of those who choose Him.

God was thinking of you long before you ever thought about Him.

Isaiah 44:2A (Contemporary English version) “I am your creator.  You were in my care even before you were born.

You are not an accident

“If there was no God

Life would have no purpose or meaning or significance. (It would be like a stump)

The good news is there is a God and your life has reason and purpose and meaning. A God shaped life is a flourishing tree.

You are as close to God as what you chose to be.

He has not moved – Then guess who did.

Revelation 22:20 (NLT) – He who is the faithful witness to all these things says. “Yes, I am coming soon!”

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

My question to you is: – Can you say “Amen” to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you ready to meet Jesus?

Is your life right, not religious?
