Impacting life’s disasters #3 – Get good seed in the ground

Get good seed in the ground

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seed you sow (plant).

Pastor George Lehman

Over the past weeks we have been looking at Impacting Life’s Disasters.

#1You’ve got what it takes and

#2 Getting the most out of your Storms

But, today I want us to look at some more Good News.

If you catch this – you won’t be the same again.

Do you realize that you can cause good things to happen in your life?

It is all up to you.

Just as you can cause bad things to happen in your life.

You ask how?  Simply by sowing.

If your life is filled with joy and peace, you have a great attitude and you’re being fruitful, reflecting the character of Jesus,

Just check what seeds you have been sowing in your life, that got you to such a courageous, victorious place.

So too, if you’re regularly miserable, have a bad attitude, always complaining, always filled with anger, negativity and unforgiveness, just check the seeds you’re busy sowing into your life.

When you’re assessing your harvest, deal with the cause not the symptom.
Cause = seeds we’re planting.
Symptom = harvest we’re reaping.

As you sow good things so you also reap good things.

2 Corinthians 9:6:- “He who sows (bountifully) generously will also reap (bountifully) generously”.

The words that are highlighted in the Greek of this text –

2 words highlighted = Bountifully – Generously.

It is a universal law – what you sow you will reap, e.g. Law of Gravity.

Remember God gave a rainbow to Noah – with a promise, “I won’t do it again, but He said something very significant as well”.

Genesis 8:22 :- “While the earth remains seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer and day and night shall not cease”.

Note – While the earth remains, we can expect sowing and reaping, seed time and harvest time.

This is an unchanging principle – it is a universal law.

That will not change until the end of time.

Do you know, right in the middle life’s disasters we can trust God to have a good harvest?

You say, “My life is a disaster”, well, what have you been sowing?

How do we “Impact life’s Disasters?”

The KEY- By sowing good seeds.

When you sow good things into your life, in time of storms and need, good things are going to come.

You’ll find you become fruitful, blessed, and prosperous.

Note :- God wants you to prosper in EVERY area of your life.

3 John 1:1-2 :- “Beloved (that is you) I pray that IN ALL RESPECTS you may prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers”.

For the most there are 2 kinds of people –

Those who Give to Live

Those who Live to Give.

Those who GIVE TO LIVE don’t do something without expecting a reward – there’s always strings attached.  They keep record of what they give.

The one’s who LIVE TO GIVE never expects rewards – no payment, the question is, “Has it helped someone?”

But beware of this, when you are selfish, critical, miserable, bad attitude, judgmental, negative, unkind – this will block the harvest.

Guess what you will reap?

Become more SEED orientated than your NEED orientated.

It must be in our DNA – (Devine Natural Ability) it is the very nature of God, He delights in giving – John 3:16,

He even gives what we don’t deserve –

What a principle –

Givers are gainers

Takers are losers.

You may say, “This doesn’t work for me, I’ve forgiven, I’ve shown love, I just got kicked in the teeth, I’ve given my tithe, I’m still struggling”.

Can I just say this, check the motive of your heart –

You’ll find you can never out give God and His Word works.

Everything you do in obedience to the Word and His Name – Luke 6:37-38, will be your experience.

  Luke 6:37-38 Living Bible (TLB)

37 “Never criticize or condemn—or it will all come back on you. Go easy on others; then they will do the same for you. 38 For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give—large or small—will be used to measure what is given back to you.”

Note, God is not referring here to money, not material things; it is all about life and relationships (About people).

Let me tell you – the richest people are those who have sown unselfishly into the life of others.

Sow a smile, give kindness, give mercy, give forgiveness, give love, sow favour, sow understanding, sow care, sow time, sow your energy, sow your resources – bless others.

Sow all the potential God has put into your life.

What an awesome return on your investment.

It is like good seed on the land waiting for harvest time.

Good seed does not cost – it pays.

The farmer who bought good quality seed for his 2 neighboring farmers, when asked why.  “If they plant poor seed it blows over into my land and I will also have a poor crop.  So now we all have good crops”.

Become others orientated – and not self-orientated.

Are you feeling down and low and discouraged – unhappy?

Bless somebody

Call and encourage somebody

Do something that will make somebody happy.

You say so many bad things have happened in your life.

Well, change the cycle; till you have a big crop of peace, joy, and blessings overtaking you.

Why?  It is a universal law – what you sow, you will reap.

Galatians 6:9 :- “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap, if we do not grow weary”.

Galatians 6:7 :- “Do not be deceived and deluded (fooled) and misled, God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained or mocked by mere pretensions or professions or by precepts being set aside) (He inevitably deludes (deceives) himself who attempts to delude God).  For whatever a man sows that and that only is what he will reap”.

Remember to “Impact life’s disasters”.

Become a great professional sower and giver.

Expect good days as you become a good sower.
