Habits Christians apply to live a Victorious life in the Kingdom.

Habits Christians apply to live a Victorious life in the Kingdom.

By: Pastor George Lehman

Matthew 6:33 (NIV) – But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

If you apply these HABITS to your life the chances of “Wandering from the Truth” is zero!

“Depending on what they are, our HABITS will either make us or break us. We become what we repeatedly do.” – Sean Covey

Remember, Habit is overcome by habit… Everyone of us need to deal with our Habits.

Whatever you have and whatever happens in your life isn’t an accident or necessarily always God’s will.

It is many times in your hands more than you may realise.

What you do daily will determine what you have in this life.

Galatians 6:8-9 (NIV) – 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in *doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  (2 Habits – 2 Different results)

*These are your daily Habits

Sowing in the Spirit you will become stronger, stand your ground, resist the devil and be open to receive more from God.

Proverbs 8:34-35 (NKJV) – 34Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favour from the Lord.

In other words, an anointed daily routine produces a victorious bold overcoming life. Listening to God- Watching your habits – Waiting on Gods timing

If you really want to put an end to being defeated, discouraged, deceived, despondent and distracted –

It’s time to take your faith to a higher level and establish these habits that are found in strong Christians.

A Habit is either a cork or lead; it either pushes you up or pulls you down.

Habit No.1 – Strong Christians feed their Spirit.

Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) – But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Clearly, we need food for our Spirit too.

A strong Christian is not ignorant of the devil’s schemes and understands the importance of developing a strong spirit to resist him.

How do you feed your Spirit? So, it becomes a Habit.

By reading God’s word everyday
Strong Christians know one snack each week (Church of Sunday) isn’t enough to sustain them. It’s a daily discipline.
Hebrews 10:25(NIV) – Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Arrange your schedule around the WORD – instead of trying to make the word fit into your busy life.

Habit No.2 – Strong Christians build their faith.

1 Samuel 30:6 (Amp) – Further, David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, for all of them were embittered, each man for his sons and daughters. But David felt strengthened and encouraged in the Lord his God.

Do you know that Faith is your responsibility it’s not your Pastor or Cell Leader or your spouse.

You alone guarantee that you enjoy a strong faith; it’s found in your daily habits.

Hebrews 11:33-34 & 39 (NIV) – 33Who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34quenched the fury of the flames and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 39These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.

How do you build that kind of faith?

Romans 10:17(NIV) – Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Feeding your faith on the seed of the word; hearing it again and again is how you water the seed and build your faith (Get a sermon or a bible app listen to it in your car.)

Remember faith comes by hearing but so does doubt; be careful what you listen too.

You either build the habit of faith or the habit of doubt.

When you build your faith by hearing the word daily – Truth will come, faith will come and then a habit of living in Victory will come.

Habit No.3 – Strong Christians speak the Word.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) – Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Strong Christians speak the word over their lives, their family and the lives of others around them.

To get into the good habit of speaking the word over every situation work on mastering the first 2 habits (build your faith and feed your spirit)

When Jesus was tempted by the devil He answered back with the WORD.

Matthew 4:4 (NIV) – Jesus answered, “It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

No matter what you are facing speak blessings, healing, abundance, forgiveness, peace, break through.

Habit No.4: Strong Christians control their thought life.

God’s recipe for a habit of thought life.

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) – This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

Think it – Speak it – Live it.

You already know if your thought life is healthy or toxic.

Your thoughts affect your words which affect your health, prosperity, joy, peace and every other area of your life.

Philippians 4:8 (LB) – And now bothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.

Habit 5: Strong Christians get rid of baggage.

Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Streamlining – It’s an important concept in aerodynamics; to streamline is to reduce resistance.

Motorcycle manufactures, Aeroplane, Rocket ships, even athletes streamline to remove anything that would slow them down.

We are called to do the same with our Spiritual lives.

God calls us to “strip off every weight that slows us down”.

What kind of baggage are you carrying – worry anxiety, stress, or fear?

Maybe it’s a habit of sin or unforgiveness.

Whatever it is, make the decision to get rid of it today. It’s slowing you down.

When you put these habits of strong Christians into practice daily

You will develop the kind of Spirit that will defeat the enemy and ensure you live a strong overcoming Christian life, and you won’t wander from the truth.

This is the life Jesus died to give you after all:
#1 A habit of feeding your spirit man
#2 A habit of building your faith
#3 A habit of speaking the Word
#4 A habit of controlling your thoughts
#5 A habit of getting rid of baggage.
