The result of Transformation*
*Transform = make considerable change in appearance or character.
(God placed certain things in us that must come out.)
By Pastor George Lehman
When you become a child of God – TRANSORMATION has begun.
John 1:12 (Amp) – But to as many (None are excluded who call on His name) as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.
(Believe- Receive – Become)
We must never lose our conviction that God change lives.
If you really believe it:
you’ll tell others, } It’s called the result of
you’ll live differently, } Transformation
you’ll speak and act differently }
God enables us to make the radical “changes” necessary for fulfilling our purposes and responsibilities.
NB! It’s our obedience and commitment that sets the process in motion.
1 Peter 1:22 (NIV) – Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth, so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply from the heart.
Some men see things as they are and say “why”. I dream of things that never were and say “why not”. “George Bernard Shaw”
We say, “Why can’t I get victory in this or that situation.
Why do I always feel like a failure?
Why do others seem to be so much happier, fulfilled and going places with God?”
However: Looking through God’s eyes, WHY NOT!!! There’s more, there is no limit to what God wants to bring forth out of your life.
As Paul says, “forgetting the past and pressing on…”
In his book, “How to begin the Christian life”, George Sweeting tells this story, “In an Italian city stands a statue of a Grecian maiden with a beautiful face, a graceful figure, and a noble expression.
One day a poor little peasant girl came face to face with the statue. She stood and stared, and then went home to wash her face and comb her hair.
The next day she came again to stand before the statue, and then to return home once more. This time she mended her tattered clothing.
Day by day she changed, her form grew more graceful, and her face more refined, till she greatly reflected the famous statue. She was transformed in appearance!”
Sweeting commented – “Just so, the spiritual man in us must each day seek to be transformed to the perfect image of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.”
Romans 8:29 (NIV) – For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
Romans 13:11 (Amp) – Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).
We need to be in a strong process of transformation.
Other books are given for our INFORMATION. The Bible is given for our TRANSFORMATION
The call to the child of God is to transformation.
Transform = to make considerable change in character.
If your gifting, talents, and abilities take you where your character can’t keep you – it will destroy you.
Allowing God to bring forth your God-given:
If you deliberately plan to be less than you are capable of being, you will bring unhappiness and ineffectiveness to the rest of your life.
Michelangelo saw a block of marble which the owner said was of no value.
“It’s valuable to me”, said Michelangelo. There is an angel imprisoned in it and I must set it free. (Transformation is a process)
Jeremiah 1:5 (Amp) – Before I formed you in the womb I knew and approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
Jeremiah had to grow up into that which God placed inside of him – David, Moses, Paul. You and I house the prophetic word and power of God:
that He has spoken over us;
that which He has ordained us to be.
John 1:12 – To all who receive Him, Christ gives the power …
(to slip out of who we’ve been forced into being – so that we can TRANSFORM into the individuals we were created to be.)
To be TRANSFORMED, is to be CHANGED. In fact, repentance also means “to change”. Change is a gift from God. Don’t ever assume that real change occurs without any struggle, prayer and effort.
A.W. Tozer said the following:
I believe we should profit immensely were we to declare a period of silence and self-examination during which each one of us searched his own heart and sought to meet every condition for a real baptism of power from on high.”
Romans 12:2 (Amp) – Do not be conformed to this world (this age*), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God…
*World age – Eion greek)
Sadly, many individuals in the body of Christ are persevering [volhard] without progressing [vordering]. You can sit through hundreds of inspirational services and never change.
Ephesians 4:23 (Amp) – And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],
The Holy Spirit knows how to renew the mind.
The result of “Transformation” comes through the birth canal of our:
seeking His face,
reading His word
spending time in prayer
As Paul said it to the Philippians church:
Philippians 3:10 (Amp) – [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]
My Prayer is that the next few months will be a time of magnificent Transformation in our lives
By Allowing that which God has placed within you to come out and change our world Jesus saved us to affect.
