2018 Cannot be business as usual

God has given us each 24 hour day in which to fulfill our calling.

“It’s the business of every committed disciple to increase his abilities, capabilities, talents and gifts to extend the Kingdom of God.”

Have you decided to do and be more this Year?

If you do not have a finish strong attitude, the first wind of change will defeat you.

Ephesians 4:14 (Ampl) – So that we are no longer children [spiritually immature], tossed back and forth [like ships on a stormy sea] and carried about by every wind of [shifting] doctrine, by the cunning and trickery of [unscrupulous] men, by the deceitful scheming of people ready to do anything [for personal profit].

Ecclesiastes 7:8A (NIV) – “The end of a matter is better than its beginning…”

It’s not how you start but how you will finish…

Great beginnings are not as important as the way one finishes.

What will it take for you and me to hear these remarkable words from the One who means everything to us?

Matthew 25:21 (NIV) – His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

Few things: God has not overloaded you with gifts, talents and abilities that will break you back. You’ve been given a few things to be most equipped to finish you race strong!

To finish life well requires that you live life well.

Therefore 2018 cannot be business as usual if you intend to finish well
Example: Israel – God had great promises for them but they chose Egypt (business as usual)
Lots wife – Looking back (Business as usual)

Luke 17: 30-32 (NLT) – 30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home. 32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife!

The truth is we can be in Christ and attend church but never fulfill our calling.

Scripture makes this clear: Colossians 4:17 (NIV) – Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the work you have received in the Lord.”

Why encourage someone to fulfill a Ministry, if it were not possible that it could be unfulfilled?

Jesus actually gave this WARNING in Matthew 25

It was never business
as usual for them

The 5 Talent person brought back 5 more
The 2 Talent person brought back 2 more
There will always be those who are enormously gifted, have great potential and yet… are happy to do business as usual

The WARNING: Matthew 25:24-26 (NIV) – 24Then the man who had received the one talent came. “Master, he said, I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.” 26His master replied, “You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?”

No one wants your success in life more than God Himself!

You may right now be facing adversity in your – Marriage
Health, ect.

Your situation may seem utterly hopeless and without solution…

The Good News is: Mark 10:27 (NIV) – Jesus looked at them and said, “with man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

There is however an Important Qualifier on this promise.

Mark 9:23 (Ampl) – Jesus said to him, “[You say to Me,] ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me]!”

It cannot be business as usual this year for any of us!

God created you to make a difference.

What areas of your life need to be surrendered to Jesus? What needs to change?
