God rejoices over you

God rejoices over you.

Rejoice: To make joyful – to gladden – to exult

It’s an impartation (oordrag)

Man was the only thing in creation that God touched to create.

By Pastor George Lehman

The true price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.

Story of poorly dressed man:

A poorly dressed man came into a church that had fancy ceilings, oak pews, stained glass windows and a plush carpet.  The congregation was uncomfortable about the situation.  After the service the minister greeted the humbly dressed man and asked him if he enjoyed the service.  Then the minister asked him to pray and ask Jesus how he should dress if he came back the next Sunday.

The next Sunday the man returned dressed the same as the week before.  The congregation was really upset about it!  After the service the minister asked him, “What did Jesus say about your dress for church?”  He said, “I spoke to Jesus about this, but He said He didn’t know how I should dress because He’s never been here before.

It’s not how you dress your body; it’s how you dress your heart.

We are so conscious about how we dress – what about your heart?

You are not insignificant.

Revelation 3:19 (NIV) – Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

Think of it, from the day that you received Him, Jesus Christ, the Son of God lives in you!  He lives in you mightily.  You not only serve a mighty God, but His might is with you and in you this very moment.

Never view your life as if Jesus did nothing for you. We try sort out our own problems. When things go well, we hardly connect with God.

If you are living in a way that is causing you to be LESS THAN you are capable of, being you will bring unhappiness, misery, and negativity to the rest of your life; you’ll live in consistent defeat, failure and fear.

You were created for greatness and achievement.  You have been given the seeds for greatness.

What is achievement?
What is greatness?
Doing what God wants you to do and being where He wants you to be.

Christians are new creations, not re-built sinners. (we live as if God put a body over an old engine an chassis)

God has placed His divine seed in you!

2 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV) – His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.   Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Note: “The seed” locked up within it, has the power to be a fruit bearing tree of its kind. We should be producing His divine nature.

Like an apple seed has an apple orchard locked up in it.

In the same way we have received the seed of God’s word in our hearts.

There is no limit to what God can do for you.

In that seed is locked up His Devine Nature which must show forth its fruit.

God rejoices over you!

Not many of God’s children realize that He rejoices over them with singing.

Zephaniah 3:16b -17 (Amp) – 16bIn that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not, O Zion. Let not your hands sink down or be slow and listless. 17The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.

Luke 15:10 (NIV) – I tell you there is rejoicing in the presence of angels of God over one sinner who repents.

The question is not, ‘Does God delight in His children?’  He does.

Psalm 149:4 (NIV) – For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.

The question is, ‘What is it about us that He delights in?’

Notice the condition attached to God’s delighting in us:

Psalm 147:11(NIV) – the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Psalm 37:23 (NIV) – If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm.

Psalm 37:4 (NIV) – Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

The answer is, at root, what God delights in about us is, that “We delight in Him”.

Psalm 70:4 (NIV) – But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The Lord is great!”

Clearly from scripture God values our valuing Him.  God delights in our delighting in Him.

We need to understand why ‘God rejoices over us.’

It is because of our delight in Him.

I trust that God is on our side, but it is more important to know that we are on God’s side. – Abraham Lincoln

(The proof is that we delight in Him)

The key to a victorious overcoming, passionate life is right living!

God approves of what is right.  Our right living, our right acting, right thinking and right speaking!

This is what delighting in Him means.

God is faithful and is fully committed to our success.  He wants to rejoice over our lives.

However:

Psalm 37:23-24 (NIV) – If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumbles, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.  Notice the condition ‘If’.

Numbers 14:8 (Amp) – If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land flowing with milk and honey. Remember the Lord did not delight in the Moses generation, and they never entered into the promised land.

Many times, because of our sinful, selfish nature, self-centred attitude our desire isn’t for God, but for so many other things.

Never forget this: The things we mostly desire and dwell upon is where we end up.

The greater the influence of the flesh, the less your desire for God will be.

Proverbs 11:20 (NIV) – The Lord detests men of perverse heart, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

If you want to experience the blessing, favor, and God’s delight in your life…

1 Timothy 4:16 (NIV) – Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Our delighting in God and His rejoicing over us is determined by our feeding on His life daily.
